Founder of Luminae Wellness, Acupuncturist & Herbalist

Ivy brings a depth of expertise and compassionate presence to guide you towards empowerment in health and in life. As a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, energy healer, and mother, she blends her ancestral wisdom in Chinese Medicine with a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, offering a truly holistic healing experience. With a deep understanding of the interconnectedness between the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms, Ivy creates a sacred space for vibrant health and profound transformation. She warmly invites you to reconnect with your true essence, find clarity in purpose, and embrace life wholeheartedly. Ivy is known as a practitioner, teacher, and speaker on fertility, pregnancy, motherhood, seasonal wellness, emotional alchemy, and life design.

Ivy graduated with a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the esteemed Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences, and she holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Economics from New York University, where she was honored as a Martin Luther King Jr Scholar. Inspired by a calling to honor her family's cultural traditions, Ivy transitioned from a career in investment banking and technology to pursue her passion for Chinese Medicine. Complementing her practice, Ivy interweaves wisdom from Buddhism, Daoism, metaphysics, sound healing, and plant medicine. She is also trained as a birth doula, yoga instructor, and musician. Ivy is from Taiwanese ancestry and speaks Mandarin, Spanish, and Portuguese. Her global perspective has been enriched from living and traveling across five continents and over thirty countries. She cherishes moments with her family, gardening, salsa dancing, and enjoying the beauty of nature in the Bay Area.

 

Misa Wakabayashi

Massage Therapist

Misa discovered her passion for massage therapy after experiencing its profound benefits for her own back pain, alongside her fascination with Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, which fosters deep relaxation and calm. As a licensed massage therapist, she has experience working with diverse clients, including professional athletes, ballerinas, the elderly, and high-profile individuals. Misa received her training at the National Holistic Institute and she is especially skilled with the massage techniques of deep tissue, myofascial release, hot stone therapy, and American lymphatic drainage. Misa also specializes in advanced prenatal and perinatal massage, having trained with Carole Osborne, a respected teacher in the field for over 30 years.

Originally from New York City, Misa moved to the Bay Area after working in the biotech and tech industries. She is a devout practitioner of Tibetan and Japanese Vajrayana Buddhism, and brings a sense of positivity and mindfulness to her therapeutic practice. In her spare time, she enjoys grooming her three Shih Tzu dogs, who affectionately resemble Ewoks, adding joy and warmth to her life.
